Cookies and privacy policies are killing people.
We get it – your website uses cookies. We know – your privacy policy has been updated.
No one cares about that.
What they DO care about is wasting 2 second to click “I agree” on every site on the internet and the 2 second it takes to delete the “Privacy Policy Update” in your email. No one reads those damn policies.
What government agency exactly is mandating (or even suggesting) this? There should be a single statement that you get when you sign up for the internet service that says, “There is no privacy on any website on the internet. You having internet access implies you agree with those privacy policies and the use of cookies.”
No one ever said, “Man, I wish I spent more time reading privacy policies and clicking on cookie agreement buttons.” Therefore, it’s safe to say that those 2 seconds of privacy/cookie policy dealings were 100% wasted life.
There’s 3.2 billion internet users. If my policy saves 4 seconds of life * 3.2 billion = 12.8 billion seconds saved. Average human life span is 79 years, which is 2.4 billion seconds. That means 5.2 lives are completely wasted (murdered?) with stupid policy mandates. Start adding up the amount of time webmasters take to update their policies, and so on, and you see how nasty it is.
Save a life – complain to your politician that policy updates are murdering us all, 2 seconds at a time.
